Plastic waste disposal in Uganda has reached alarming levels, with approximately 600 tons of plastic being discarded daily. Shockingly, an estimated 51% of plastic garbage remains uncollected in the city, leading to pollution of drainage channels, wetlands, water sources, and roadsides. In rural areas, the situation is equally dire, as plastic waste is often left to decompose unsustainably.
